The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). Sony Pictures stepped up to acquire the film and it is set for July 26, 2019 release worldwide. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has been referred to as a Pulp Fiction-like tapestry of stories filled with characters around LA in the summer of 1969, before the Manson murders were committed. The cast also includes Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Leonardo DiCaprio, Burt Reynolds, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Timothy Olyphant, Margot Robbie, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Scoot McNairy, James Marsden, Clifton Collins Jr, Mike Moh, Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond, Spencer Garrett, Martin Kove, James Remar, Brenda Vaccaro, Nichole Galicia, Mike Moh, Rafal Zawierucha, Lorenza Izzo, Lena Dunham, Austin Butler, Maya Hawke, Craig Stark, Marco Rodriguez, Ramon Franco and Raul Cardona. Rumer Willis, Dreama Walker, Margaret Qualley, Costa Ronin, Damon Herriman, Victoria Pedretti and Madisen Beaty have also joined the film’s cast this week.

Manson has previously been played by several actors across film and television, including Steve Railsback, Jeremy Davies, Marcelo Games, Ryan Kiser and Evan Peters. Set against the backdrop of the infamous Manson Family murders of 1969, it’s only natural that Charles Manson will be making an appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and The Wrap reports tonight that Damon Herriman (“Justified,” pictured below) has landed the role of the real-life cult leader.
